Insight Remote IONM Professionals was founded by Dr. Jeffery Parkinson in 2013 with a clear purpose: to build a remote oversight practice staffed by providers who truly understand what happens in the operating suite.

Our Au.D. readers each spent decades performing every role in IONM — from electrode placement and signal acquisition to real-time troubleshooting and professional interpretation. Dr. Hollander, while bringing her expertise as a neurologist, also invested time working alongside technologists in the OR, developing a firsthand appreciation for the practical demands of the field that few oversight physicians can claim.

That depth of shared experience is what sets Insight apart. When our providers read a case, they aren't interpreting data in isolation — they understand exactly what it took to acquire it, and they bring that understanding to every interaction with the technologists they support.

HIPAA-Compliant & Secure Remote Connection Infrastructure
"The best oversight providers don't just read the data — they understand exactly what it takes to acquire high quality data."
— The Insight Approach
Bridging professional oversight with real technical expertise.

Surgeons and IONM technologists value readers with hands-on OR experience. This practical background offers nuanced insights, ensuring accurate and actionable evaluations that respect the realities of collecting evoked potentials during surgery.

Insight Remote IONM Professionals bridges the gap between professional oversight and technical IONM expertise. Our extensive field experience and dedication to patient outcomes and technologist support define our unparalleled service. We prioritize clear communication and technical precision for the highest level of care.

01
Hands-On OR Experience

Our providers bring firsthand knowledge of the operating room environment — understanding the practical challenges of recording evoked potentials during live surgery that no textbook fully captures.

02
Actionable Guidance

When data quality is compromised, technologists need solutions — not theoretical responses. We deliver specific, actionable interventions grounded in real technical experience in the operating suite.

03
Collaborative Partnership

Optimal outcomes emerge when reader and technologist function as a unified team. We cultivate collaborative relationships built on clear communication, technical precision, and mutual respect.

Professional Oversight Services

Remote professional oversight delivered by providers who have performed every role in IONM — from electrode placement to real-time interpretation.

Real-Time Remote Interpretation

Live, continuous interpretation of multimodal evoked potential studies — SSEP, MEP, BAEP, EMG, and EEG — with immediate, clear communication to the surgical team throughout every case.

Alert Decision Support

Decisive, criteria-based alert communication grounded in practical surgical context. We reduce ambiguity at the most critical moments — when the surgeon needs clarity, not hesitation.

Technologist Collaboration

When recording quality is challenged, we offer specific, actionable solutions — not theoretical guidance. Our providers have faced the same challenges at the table and know what actually works in a live OR.

Medical Documentation

Thorough, legally defensible case reports prepared by board-certified providers and compliant with industry documentation standards — delivered consistently across every case we oversee.

The Insight Standard
Every case is overseen by a provider who has stood where the technologist stands — and that changes everything.
Most remote oversight practices are staffed by physicians whose IONM experience begins and ends at the reading station. At Insight, every Au.D. provider spent decades performing all roles in the field before transitioning to professional oversight. The result is a team that communicates with technologists as true peers — fluent in the practical language of the OR.

Jeffery D. Parkinson

Jeffery D. Parkinson, AuD

Doctor of Audiology
Dr. Parkinson has been active in intraoperative monitoring for over 30 years, building a career that spans broad IONM practice across complex spinal, cranial, vascular, and neurotological procedures. In addition to his clinical expertise, he has developed deep experience in IONM practice building, provider recruitment, and contracting — giving him a uniquely comprehensive perspective on the industry. He holds dual board certification through both the D.ABNM and BCS-IOM. When he isn't working, he can usually be found exploring new destinations or experimenting in the kitchen.
